The Pious Pastors, and
Esteemed Parish Councils, of
the Holy Diocese of Denver

Beloved in the Lord,

As I wrote in my letter addressed to all the families of the Diocese of Denver December 12, 2001, the construction of the your new Diocesan Center is continuing, with an expected completion this summer.

With the Center, there will be a gallery in which we plan to feature significant historical objects from each parish of the Diocese. These will be arranged to form a kind of museum, or display, of the parishes, peoples, and histories of this vast and significant diocesan region of our holy Archdiocese within these United States.

I am therefore asking each parish to carefully and thoughtfully consider at this time the donation of an object that might be placed within this gallery. You know best what object might best exemplify or speak to the history and tradition of your parish. Items for consideration might include those used in worship Ñ an Altar Gospel, a censer, the communion kit used by one of the first priests in the earliest days of the parish, a Blessing Cross, an old icon, etc. Ñ or those exemplifying the organization of the parish Ñ a historic deed, a memorial coin or medal, an early photograph, etc.

Take time to determine what sort of object would be appropriate. The item you consider should be of significant historical importance, and one which you would be very pleased to have on display at your Diocesan Center for visitors to appreciate and gain some insight regarding your parish and its history.

Once you determine what sort of item you might wish to send for display, please communicate with me, so that arrangements can be made for safe and secure shipment to the Diocesan Office at the appropriate time.

The Center will be a visible symbol of Orthodoxy in these plains, mountains, and great southwestern states. I know that each of our faithful will be very proud of it, and I encourage and invite everyone to visit whenever they have the occasion to be in the Denver area.

With Paternal Blessings,

+Metropolitan Isaiah
Presiding Hierarch
of the Diocese of Denver
