A Bishop's Anthem, or Pheme

Each hierarch has an "anthem," referred to as his "pheme" or "fími," which proclaims him and the geographic are over which he exercises his canonical ecclesiastical authority.

The hierarch as celebrant intones the Pheme of his canonical senior, which is repeated by the clergy and choir. In the case of the Archbishop and the Metropolitans of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, this is the Ecumenical Patriarch.

Following the chanting of Patriarchal Pheme, the Pheme of the celebrant hierarch is intoned by the deacon or senior priest, and is repeated by the remaining clergy and choir.

The Pheme for Metroplitan Isaiah of Denver

The Pheme for Metroplitan Isaiah is as follows:

Isaiah, the Most-Reverend and God-Chosen Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Denver, our Father and Chief Shepherd, many years.
